Saskia is in charge of food at The Palace. She cooks vegetarian meals and is keen on sourcing local, organically farmed food and using excess stock from shops or markets. She was recently helping to run the community kitchen in Lisbon for a project 'Plataforma Trafaria' which worked using a similar concept.
Saskia will also be leading art classes at The Palace. In her own practice she focuses on observational drawing, using it as a tool to mediate upon an object and deconstruct it. She is interested in how art can be used in therapy and education, and the importance of its facility to capture the mind or an event which may be otherwise difficult to express.
